Frequently asked questions
What is Pinnagoat?
A free daily trivia game. Each day everyone gets the same 10 multiple choice questions, from easy to brutal. A goat climbs one ledge for every correct answer, and you see how many other climbers got past each one. No login needed.
When does a new climb start?
At midnight UTC, every day. Your game screen shows a countdown to the next climb, so you can see exactly how long you have to wait.
What happens if I get one wrong or run out of time?
Your climb ends there. One wrong answer or one timeout is sudden death. You still get your tier, your crowd percentile and a share card.
How long do I have for each question?
20 seconds. The timer is checked on our server, so everyone plays by the same clock.
What is Second Wind?
One lifeline per day that removes two wrong answers from a question. It is free, it is never sold, and it shows as a small mark in your share row.
How do ties at the top work?
If you reach the summit, ties are broken by total answer time across all ten questions. The fastest 100 summit climbers of the day make up the Pinnagoat Club.
How do streaks and streak freezes work?
Your streak counts the days in a row that you play the daily climb. You earn a streak freeze every 7 days, which protects your streak if you miss a day. Archive climbs do not count toward your streak.
Can I play past climbs?
Yes. The last 7 days are free to play from the archive. Older days are part of the Trail Pass.
What is the Trail Pass?
A one time purchase of $4.99. It unlocks the full archive, all Themed Peaks and unlimited Free Climb, and it removes ads across the site. There is no subscription.
Can I get a refund?
Our refund policy explains how refunds work and how to ask for one. If you cannot find what you need, email hello@pinnagoat.com.
How can I play with friends?
Create a group and send the invite link. Everyone who joins appears on a shared board for today and for the week. You do not need an account to join.
Can I turn off the sound or use colorblind mode?
Yes. There is a sound toggle in the top bar, and colorblind mode lives in Settings. For more on how we make the game usable for everyone, see our accessibility page.
Can I install Pinnagoat on my phone?
Yes. Pinnagoat works as an installable web app. Open it in your browser, use the share or menu button, and choose Add to Home Screen. It then opens like any other app.
What data do you keep about me?
Very little. Your progress is tied to your device, and a nickname is optional. Read the full details on our privacy page.
What does "verified" mean on a question?
Every question is checked against a source before it goes live, and that source is saved with the question. If you ever think an answer is wrong, email hello@pinnagoat.com with the climb number and question, and, if you can, what you think the right answer is. We read every report.
