Privacy policy
Effective October 2026. This policy explains what Pinnagoat collects, why, and the choices you have. Pinnagoat is an independent game run by Summit Games, a game studio run by Peter Broas, an individual based in Texas, United States. Questions or requests: hello@pinnagoat.com.
What we collect
- A random device id. Created in your browser the first time you play and kept in local storage. It lets us run your daily climb, keep one climb per day, and show your results. It is not tied to your name.
- Gameplay data. Which day you played, how high you climbed, your answer times, whether you used Second Wind, and your streak and stats (kept on your device).
- A nickname, if you choose one. Nicknames for the Pinnagoat Club and friends groups are shown to other players.
- Purchase records. If you buy the Trail Pass, payment is handled by Stripe. We never see your card number. We keep a purchase id and a signed pass token so the game can unlock your pass.
- Your email, only if you send it. For example when you email us or restore a purchase.
- Technical logs. Our host, Cloudflare, processes your IP address and basic request details to deliver the site and stop abuse.
Why we use it
- To run the game you asked to play (strictly necessary).
- To keep leaderboards fair and stop cheating (legitimate interest).
- To show ads, and with your consent where the law requires it, personalized ads.
- To process and restore purchases.
We do not sell your personal information for money.
Ads and Google
Pinnagoat shows ads through Google AdSense. Third party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or other sites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.
- See how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
- You can turn off personalized ads in Google Ads Settings or at aboutads.info.
- In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland we ask for consent before ads use cookies or local storage. In US states with privacy laws you can opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. Use the Privacy choices link at the bottom of any page to change your choices at any time. We honor Global Privacy Control signals.
Trail Pass holders do not see ads.
Cookies and local storage
The game itself uses local storage, not tracking cookies, to remember your device id, streak, stats, settings and pass. Ad partners may set cookies as described above. Details are on our cookie page.
Who we share it with
- Cloudflare hosts the site and our database.
- Stripe processes payments.
- Google and its ad partners deliver ads.
Your data may be processed in the United States.
How long we keep it
Climb records are kept to power stats and leaderboards and are deleted or made anonymous after 24 months. Nicknames are deleted with your climbs on request. Purchase records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, object to processing, or withdraw consent. Email hello@pinnagoat.com and include your device id (shown in Settings) so we can find your records. If you are in the EEA or UK you can also complain to your data protection authority.
Children
Pinnagoat is a general audience game and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. Big changes will be noted on the site.
